RAIPUR: A 17-year-old tribal lady fought off a band of eight armed males to avoid wasting her father from a homicide bid in a village in Maoist-affected Naryanpur district of Bastar on Monday.
The gang barged into their dwelling and attacked the farmer with an axe, however the lady pounced on the axeman, wrestled the weapon from him and stood defending her father like a lioness.Her fightback unnerved the attackers and gave neighbours valuable seconds to mount a rescue. The gang fled.
