2 arrested for pouring water at Taj Mahal, Hindu outfit says ‘Gangajal’ provided to ‘Tejo Mahalay’ | India Information

NEW DELHI: Agra Police on Saturday arrested two youths for pouring water on the Taj Mahal and inside its premises and claiming it to be a Hindu temple.
Suraj Kumar Rai, deputy commissioner of police (Agra Metropolis), instructed information company PTI that the 2 youths have been arrested following a written criticism by the Central Industrial Safety Drive (CISF) personnel posted contained in the Taj Mahal.
“The youths entered the premises as vacationers. The criticism stated that the youths have been seen pouring water contained in the Taj Mahal premises,” he stated.
They’ve been arrested after the incident and a case has been filed on the Tajganj Police Station, he added.
Later, a neighborhood right-wing Hindu outfit claimed that the 2 have been its members and had provided holy “Gangajal” as they consider the monument is a Hindu temple.
Hindu organisation Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) has claimed that arrested males are its members and the 2 provided water of the holy Ganges on the premises as it’s a Hindu temple, “Tejo Mahalay”.
The case has been registered beneath Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 223 (disobedience to order promulgated by public servant), 298 (injuring or defiling place of worship), and 299 (deliberate and malicious acts supposed to outrage spiritual emotions), the police stated, including the matter is being investigated intimately.
The incident comes days after a Kanwariya tried to supply “Gangajal” on the Taj Mahal claiming that “Lord Shiv” got here in her desires and requested her to take action.
The girl was, nonetheless, stopped by the monument authorities.
“I got here to Tejo Mahalaya to supply the ‘Gangajal’. Lord Shiv known as me in my desires and I introduced kanwar to supply at Tejo Mahalaya. However, they (policemen) have stopped me from going forward,” Meena Rathore, who’s a member of a right-wing group, stated.
Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Taj Suraksha, Syed Areeb Ahmad, knowledgeable PTI that she was stopped on the west gate barrier and was not allowed to enter the Taj Mahal.
