BSF lady constable drives again armed Bangla intruders | India Information

KOLKATA: A BSF constable took on a gang of 13-14 armed intruders close to the border outpost in Bengal’s Ranaghat on Wednesday and managed to drive them again into Bangladesh even after she was surrounded.
BSF officers stated round 2am, the constable noticed the intruders, armed with knives and swords, crossing the border fence. “She charged on the intruders and gave a verbal warning, however they entered the Indian territory, surrounded the constable and attacked her.By then, a fellow jawan responded to her alarm and threw a stun grenade in the direction of the intruders,” BSF South Bengal Frontier spokesperson DIG AK Arya stated.
Because the intruders continued their ascent, the constable fired at them, pushing them again into Bangladesh. Arya stated BSF was not ruling out the potential of an intruder getting injured.
“This isn’t an remoted incident. Such assaults have been made on jawans by cattle smugglers and intruders on the border outposts of Krishnanagar, sector headquarters in Nadia, Bamanabad, Rajanagar and Behrampore lately. Jawans needed to fireplace in self-defence and have foiled incidents of smuggling and unlawful intrusion. They’ve seized unlawful medicine, animals and different unlawful objects,” Arya stated.
The Ranaghat incident comes a day after a jawan was injured whereas efficiently foiling a smuggling try on the India-Bangladesh border close to Madhubana outpost in Behrampore. Officers stated 8-10 smugglers have been noticed by the jawan and as he challenged them, they attacked him. He fired on the smugglers, pushing them again.
On July 27, one other jawan at Kalyani border outpost needed to fireplace at intruders.
BSF has held conferences with Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and BSF has lodged robust protest in opposition to these unprovoked assaults.
