Cache of grenades, firearms from NDFB-era discovered buried in Assam village | Guwahati Information

NEW DELHI: The Assam Police unearthed a cache of grenades and firearms from the Bilasiguri-Batasipur village underneath Dhekiajuli Police Station in Sonitpur district on Monday.
The operation led to the invention of 5 hand grenades of Chinese language origin, 5 hand-made grenades, a pistol, a revolver, and 5 detonators, all of which had been buried underground.
Assam director basic of police (DGP) GP Singh stated that the weapons had doubtless been hidden throughout the days of the Nationwide Democratic Entrance of Bodoland (NDFB) insurgency.
The grenades and firearms had been buried deep underneath the earth, a tactic generally employed by rebel teams to evade detection.
