Uttarakhand faculty bars married woman’s entry to ‘save its setting’ | Dehradun Information

ALMORA: A 19-year-old scholar, a scholar of sophistication XI, was denied permission to attend courses at an inter faculty in Almora after her marriage, with the varsity citing “insurance policies towards married college students” for the choice. The varsity authorities stated “permitting a married lady to sit down within the classroom would disrupt the varsity’s setting” and urged that she proceed her schooling privately.
Simran (solely first title obtainable) from Niyaz Ganj space had been finding out in Anand Singh Authorities Women’ Inter School since class VIII. After her marriage ceremony on July 28, when she returned to high school, she was not allowed to sit down within the classroom.

Chief schooling officer of Almora, Amba Balodi, advised TOI on Wednesday that there was no rule that prevented a married scholar from attending courses. “Provisional permission has been granted to Simran to attend courses. The matter is being overseen by the essential schooling officer,” Balodi stated.
